I haven't used this idea yet and don't know if I will, but it's funny story so I thought I'd share it. The other day, I asked my son what would make primary more fun. "More high-5's," he said. OK, I can give high-5's. But logistically, that's a struggle with so many kids that I can't reach! **Inspiration** Make a stuffed hand on a long arm! So I headed to the sewing machine. Keep in mind that while I do own a sewing machine, I don't really know how to sew. I can do a mean straight line, but that's about it. So I traced my arm, and began to sew. When it was done (and I wish I had taken pictures to show you) it was hideous. HIDEOUS!! My two year old actually started to cry when I waved it at her. One of the fingers was freakishly thin, and the other ones were really out of proportion. I'm not sure how that happened?! Anyhoo, a few hand stitches later and the thumbs up/down hand was (re)born. It's a little less creepy, and I hope if I ever use it we can have a good time with it. I may just use it as a Halloween decoration, though. Hey - Halloween Sunday is coming up! This could work...
Love, love, love your ideas!
ReplyDeleteJust got called and i love and appreciate all your ideas. I am not a sewer either, and thought instead of making an hand, you could stuff a glove with something and attach it to a stick. A bit easier.... :)
