Tic Tac Toe

This is a classic game that's easy to prepare and really fun for the kids.  It's a great one for a substitute, also.  Here's the gist...

  • Put the 9 numbered cards on the board.  On the back of each card, write a trivia question or clue to a song that you are reviewing.
  • Divide the kids into two groups - the X's and the O's
  • Have a child from one team choose a number on the Tic-Tac-Toe board.  Their team then has a chance to answer the question on the back of the card.  If they get it right, the number is replaced with their team marker (X or O).  If they get it wrong, the other team has a chance to answer it for the point.  Once the point is earned, sing the song.
  • The goal, of course, is for one of the teams to get three in a row.

Simple!  You can have easy questions for the JP and harder questions for the SP to make it interesting.  Or play the game in a totally different way!  Whatever suits you!

Here is the download with the 9 numbered cards, 4 X cards, and 4 O cards.
